Bits and pieces: Rebuilt and detailed

Lots of stuff going on behind the scenes. While waiting to get the body into paint we jump over to other systems for refurbishing. Many brackets. mounts, and covers get degreased, media blasted, and painted to look like new.

The heater box before tearing it down for a look inside. Cars, old and new, have a system similar to this generally consisting of a fan, a heater core (a small radiator that hot engine coolant flows through), and various flaps and doors to control where and how much heat is circulated in the passenger compartment.

Lots of crud inside the box. The heater core has leaked in it's past and probably caused a big mess by leaking engine coolant inside the car.

Another view inside the box. Doors/flaps on the right. They're usually covered in foam but it's rotten and crumbles to the touch. Squirrel cage fan in the back blows air through the core (extreme left on bench). This will all be cleaned up and rebuilt with new foam and seals. Just waiting on parts.
